About Wi-Fiスポット設定

Wi-Fiスポット設定 automatically connects your Android device to SoftBank Wi-Fi spots whenever you're within range. Simply install the app, grant the necessary permissions, and enjoy seamless Wi-Fi connectivity across SoftBank's network without manually selecting access points each time.

The app handles background Wi-Fi detection and user authentication, so you stay connected as you move between hotspot areas. On Android 10 and higher, the system will prompt you to confirm connection to SoftBank Wi-Fi Spot networks—select "Yes" to proceed. For Android 11 and later, enable the app's location permission by going to Settings > Location information > App permissions > Wi-Fiスポット設定, then select "Always allow" for full functionality.

If automatic connection doesn't trigger, simply tap the app icon to initiate the connection process. Keep in mind that when connected to Wi-Fi, SoftBank's Web Anshin Service (web security filtering) will not be active—this is standard behavior when using any Wi-Fi network. Be aware that connecting via Wi-Fi means you're using your data plan's Wi-Fi allowance rather than cellular data.

The app uses persistent background scanning to detect nearby SoftBank Wi-Fi Spot networks, which means a notification indicating the application is running will remain visible on your device when the service is active. You can reduce notification visibility on devices supporting 5GHz Wi-Fi frequencies by enabling only the "SoftBank Wi-Fi Spot (High Security)" option in the app's settings. For other network types, you can disable the background service after use to clear notifications.

Note that SoftBank Wi-Fi Spot service may require a separate application depending on your current data plan—check with SoftBank to confirm eligibility. The app is not compatible with X06HT devices. Wi-Fiスポット設定 streamlines your connection experience by removing the need to manually authenticate at each hotspot, letting you focus on staying productive and connected.
